Currently Feeling: Like THIS is the real flex
Forget climbing corporate ladders — let’s talk about climbing trees, laughing, and finding wonder. ✨
Currently Feeling is a newsletter about noticing what lights you up — and building a life that lets that version of you breathe daily.
I write about creative health, personal replenishment, and beauty as a felt experience. Think: flower arranging on a random Tuesday. A solo coffee walk just because. The quiet thrill of catching yourself in a moment and thinking: Oh. This is what it means to feel alive.
Come for the aliveness, stay for the very real magic of paying attention.
There’s a lot of chatter about how AI is coming for our jobs. And if it’s not about that, it’s conversations around learning AI.
Sure. Okay. Maybe. 🤷🏻♀️
I’m not above getting entangled in the fears, worries, and ambitions around AI. But more and more I’m becoming drawn to what it can’t touch.
As a creative, I think a lot about what I can do that a robot will never be able to do.
A robot will never know what it feels like to:
😂 Laugh until your ribs ache at a dinner table
🌊 Light up at the smell of the ocean and the sun warming your skin
🥐 Bite into a fresh-out-of-the-oven flaky croissant and feel alive again
🖼️ Create something beautiful just because it’s beautiful (not for clicks or clout)
Wonder, awe, and creativity aren’t luxuries or “soft skills” to be so easily dismissed.
They’re survival skills now.
They remind you how to feel human when everything else feels fast and flat.
They rebuild your resilience, bring your brain back online, and make your relationships richer. They make you richer — in the ways that actually matter.
While everyone’s rushing to get ahead of AI, the real flex will be building a stronger relationship with yourself; with nature, with creativity, with awe, with the living, breathing world around you.
These are the exact things we need to protect, nurture, prioritize, and celebrate.
And honestly? I think that’s what is going to matter most.
