This weekend I was obsessively trying to make everything I’m working on make sense.
Riding the wave of momentum I’d built in January, I was high off my own supply.
And thennnn… I started THINKING.
💭 What’s next?
💭 Wait, how do I even explain what I’m doing?
💭 Am I running three businesses… or just one chaotic experiment?
💭 Should I focus? Pivot? Burn it all down?
💭 What *gestures wildly* is all this?
I could feel the pressure building. I was trying to:
🚨 Think my way to clarity instead of letting it reveal itself through action.
🚨 Force an answer instead of noticing what was already working.
🚨 Mentally map out the entire journey instead of just taking the next step.
Luckily I’ve learned to spot this pattern faster — what used to take me months to realize now only takes days.
💡Clarity comes from doing
Our minds love to think they’re in charge. But in Human Design, they’re NOT.
They’re passengers, not drivers.
One of the biggest shifts Human Design has taught me is that my mind is not meant to be the seat of my decision-making.
(After all, we can literally talk ourselves into or out of anything)
Instead, we each have a Strategy and Authority that guides us on how we best make decisions and create aligned opportunities (SO cool, right?!)
(FYI, one of my favorite Human Design educators is if you want to learn more about it!)
When I realized I was spiraling in my head, I closed all the (literal and figurative) tabs and got back to basics. I asked myself:
What am I naturally responding to?
Where is my energy already flowing?
I didn’t have answers right away, so I started to track every single task and activity throughout my day.
And that’s when the fog lifted 🙌🏼
🔎 What I found when I paid attention to my energy
As a Sacral Generator, my work isn’t to think my way forward — it’s to follow my gut, trusting that the aggregate of right decisions will take me in the perfect direction.
🤷🏻♀️ Even if I don’t know where it will take me
🗺️ Even if my mind wants a perfect, linear plan
🫣 Even if part of me feels scared to trust it fully
(This last point was a huuuuge admission to myself. Part of me feels scared to know what it would really mean if I just continued to follow my gut without trying to control the outcome.)
(And to be clear, following my gut doesn’t mean I’m not being strategic. I just operate best in a flexible structure. Think: playground, not prison.)
So, I took a magnifying glass to where my energy has been naturally flowing over the last few weeks and where I’ve felt deeply satisfied. Here’s what’s been lighting me up 🕵🏻♀️:
✨ Creating structured transformational experiences (like my guided journaling and EFT tapping workshops)
✨ Writing long-form content (because I love deep thinking + storytelling)
✨ Turning my ideas into tangible tools (journal prompts, EFT tapping scripts, and repeatable frameworks)
Instead of forcing clarity, I just had to look at where my energy was already leading me — and keep doing it.
Track your own energy patterns
Like I mentioned above, I started tracking every task — from what I worked on throughout the day to what I did between waking up and eating breakfast. I labeled each item according to whether it made me feel joy, satisfied, in flow, neutral, or draining.
(I even added particularly memorable tasks and activities from the past few weeks that stood out).
Talk about a game changer!
Tracking my energy helped me to see my own patterns so I can start following what *actually* fuels me (instead of overthinking my way into another spiral).

Work in Progress
(A behind-the-scenes look at what I’m building, breaking, and figuring out in real time)
I am obsessed with The Lookout Co.’s Instagram.
The way Emma takes followers BTS of her design process? Chef’s kiss. 👩🏻🍳💋
When I found her IG last year my response was STRONG. I wanted to do something similar. At the time, I didn’t know how to apply her approach to my own content.
Until this week.
(Human design tip for generators: Just because you have a strong response to something doesn’t mean you’re meant to act on it right away, and this is a perfect example!)
One of my dream clients for my guided journaling workshops is Downshift, a decelerator program by
that helps ambitious professionals transform their relationship with ambition and uncover their next evolution.Instead of sending a pitch email, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to bring an extra dose of creativity — to pull them into my world instead of just telling them about it.
As excited as I was at my idea, I found myself procrastinating.
💅🏼 My space is TINY and not at all aesthetic.
😵💫 My lighting? Bad. Like, cave vibes.
Not exactly the perfect filming locations.
But then I this post from
(founder of Crown Affair):All I had to do was just MAKE THIS VIDEO EXIST. I could make it good later.
It was just the boost (response!) I needed to press *record* 🎥
I’m SO happy with how it turned out!
What have you been procrastinating on that you just need to (FINALLY!) put out into the world??
Tell me in the comments so I can give you a gently aggressive pep talk!
Now, about that energy tracker…
Speaking of putting things out into the world, I always want to share what’s working for me with YOU because I want to make it easier for you to create a life you love.
I created this easy-to-use energy tracker so that you can start to see the VERY IMPORTANT CLUES that will bring you the clarity you’re craving when it comes to work, life, etc.
